Reduced-Emission Engine Technology - Caring for Nature

Pre-Separation Air Filtration System
This time-saving technology boosts the efficiency of the engine’s filter system, doubling the time between air filter cleanings. Air drawn into the engine is first separated via centrifugal force, ejecting the heavier dirt particles before being routed to the air filter. This pre-separation means less dirt to be captured by the air filter, resulting in less frequent cleaning and maintenance. -
Anti-Vibration System

I had other saws up until I bought a house that only has a heat pump for heat. so I basically heat my home with the fireplace. the MS271 Farm Boss cuts anything and everything I want to cut. It's not light by any means but what 50cc, 20" bar saw is. Starts great and runs even better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Dmitriy from Broke after 1 month of use. Bought brand new MS271 from Rocky's and it broke after 1 month of use. I used Makita chainsaw before and had no problems, so I know how to use a chainsaw. Brought the STIHL saw back to Rocky's because I had bought the most expensive warranty with it. Rocky's technicians tore the saw apart and said they can't repair it nor replace it because they suspect it could have been my fault that it broke, and my best option is to buy a new chainsaw.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Drizzik from Amazing Saw I have always liked and respected the STIHL name and once again you pull though with another amazing product that performs up to and exceeds standards. Being from northern Alaska i have had little use for chain saws over the years however now living in Washington state I find a need every now and then. This saw has taken down two large trees and several smaller 3-5in trees with ease. We have clear cut two acres and its just getting warmed up. I am really impressed with the power and the over all ease of use. I have no complaints about this saw and would recommend this saw to any one that has need of a good well rounded chain saw.

It was an older Stihl but still could run circles around my old "green" saw. Decided it was time for a new saw so I chose the MS 271 Farm Boss. Absolutely impressed with this saw! Seemed to chew through 18" dia. Sugar Maple with no problem! Would recommend! Really can't say much about maintainability or reliability since I have only used the saw once.

The folks at Stihl were super nice and very helpful. The Chain Saw is amazing, I got the 20" bar since we are surrounded by trees at our house. My husband worked with it the whole weekend the first week we had it and he was impressed at how well balanced it was and how that kept him from getting fatigued.

I had a small Stihl saw there but needed a bigger one for the job at hand. So I went to Rural King and purchased a Stihl Farm Boss 271 with a 20" bar. It worked well and made the clean up job a lot easier.An excellent saw with adequate power to handle my cutting needs.Highly recommend.
